New Job For A Cowboy EP- Gloom

Posted in Uncategorized on May 28, 2011 by skiessetablaze

Holy shit. Is is just me or is this what everyone was hoping for when JFAC was dropping a new EP. I mean Death Metal is just oozing from this entire EP. The new line up looks like its paying dividends. A followup to their album Doom which was good in its own right but this just blows it away. The EP, which is produced by Jason Secouf (All That Remains, Charred Walls of the Damned) is probably the best thing that JFAC has written in my opinion. The EP drops on June 7th and I suggest picking it up. Link below to pre-order…

Rock on.

Interview with Dave Brockie from GWAR

Posted in Uncategorized on May 27, 2011 by skiessetablaze

So a few weeks back I had the chance to interview the lead singer of one of my top 5 bands of all time, Dave Brockie AKA Oderus from GWAR. What a down to earth guy. The interview happened backstage at the National in Richmond VA. The band, GWAR, was wrapping up their tour with a final stop in their hometown. He had some great words of wisdom if you could call them that. Enjoy:

New Hate Eternal Album-Phoenix Amongst The Ashes

Posted in Uncategorized on May 12, 2011 by skiessetablaze

Welp, they are at it again. Hate Eternal’s new album is fierce and very heavy. It almost takes me back to the bands early album King of All Kings.  It follows their previous album of Fury and Flames which was a great album but was tough to listen to as it didnt contain the great works of Jared Anderson who passed away a few years prior. In this album I noticed alot of heavier drumming and more defined guitar solos which differ from the earlier albums. Jade Simonetto is turning into another very technical drummer and it shows in his double kicks and snare work. If you have the chance, download the album via iTunes. It dropped yesterday May 10th.

Till next time…rock on dudes.

Review of the Cradle of Filth Show

Posted in Uncategorized on May 11, 2011 by skiessetablaze

Sorry for the delay folks. Had some technical issues on my end.

The Cradle of Filth show was kick ass. They completely owned the crowd and for it being the last show of the tour, they didnt show one sign of fatigue at all. This was my 3rd of 4th time seeing the dudes at The Norva in Norfolk VA and to me it seems like they get better and better each time. They played a mix of old and new which was played to perfection. (Set list below). The only downfall with the show was it wasnt packed as I thought it was going to be and it seemed as if Dani’s microphone kept crapping out but a new mic was tossed in almost immediately. I spoke with Paul after the show, had a beer, and he said he looks forward to coming back later this year which leads me to believe they are going to do a followup tour. He didnt say if they were going to be headlining or supporting so we will wait and see.

Well, till the next show…rock on.
